This was our first time seeing Alex and he stood out on both sides of the ball. In game he has a high motor with a willingness to block and throw behind runners regularly. A physical kid at the plate who squared balls up all day. Ball comes off his bat very well with easy gap pop and signs of emerging power in there. Put his natural tools at the plate on display by registering an exit velocity of 91 mph. Although ceiling looks to be higher behind the dish he also showed the ability to hands the glove in the infield. Worked out a shortstop but likely slides to the corners at the next level. 7/18/17 A 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect. Swings from the right-side of the plate, starting in a balanced setup. Load is fluid and creates energy. Stride is controlled, maintaining balance. Barrel flows to launch prior to taking a level path to the baseball. Hands are loose creating solid barrel whip. Natural tools are above average. Flashed gap pop, with more to come. A middle infielder that uses direct footwork approaching the baseball. Hands are soft and transfer is very quick. Transitions athletically through fielding into his throws. Uses multiple arm angles. Lateral mobility will need to improve to stay at the position, but all the other tools work for the spot. On the mound the right-hander is mechanically sound with a clean arm. A good athlete on the bump that can repeat his delivery. Works exclusively from the stretch. Uses a chest high leg lift prior to his stride. Works with good tempo and throws all his offerings with confidence and intent. Fastball was mostly true through the zone, showing the ability to use both sides of the plate and change eye levels. His go to secondary offering was the breaking ball. Slows his arm just a bit on the offering. Puts good spin on the pitch that works on an 11/5 plane and showed depth/sharpness when he was on top of it. Really impressed with his competitiveness and pitchability.

6/15/16 5-foot-9, 160-pound strong frame. Ran a 5.38 from home to first. The righty starts in a tall setup and uses a leg kick and short stride for timing. Has some quickness to his bat and takes a flat bath to the ball. Line drive type of hitter at this point. Registered a top exit velocity of 78 mph. In the infield his average glove and feet at this stage. Tends to play from heels. Has looseness to his arm and through across the infield with 70 mph arm strength. A duel prospect that has a three-pitch mix to his arsenal on the mound. His fastball showed slight run to it at 70-74 mph. His curveball had gradual break to it with a 10/4 shape at 59-61 mph. Also showed a changeup near fastball at 65-66 mph.
