Parliament came out pumping 93-95 mph and touched 96. The fastball overpowered some hitters that you did not really see get overpowered by some other arms that had similar velo. He racked up the swing-and-misses early with a four-seamer that had some riding life up and tended to play a tick quicker. Would lean 55-present value on the fastball and may grade out a tick higher just on the quality of the pitch and his ability to compete in the zone with that pitch. The slider sat 82-84 mph with short action and he was not able to land it early. He got in trouble with the slider in the second when he tried to go back-to-back with it on King and he left one up. After that he retired eleven of the next thirteen hitters he faced before giving way to the bullpen. With the mostly two-pitch mix, I would lean reliever role at the next level and he has a chance to carve out a spot with his ability to compete with the fastball. Would obviously add more value with a quality third pitch or improving shape and feel for the slider.

Physical: Large and athletic, 6-foot-2, 195-pound starter’s build with durability throughout. Rutgers commit.
Pitching: RHP - Good mound presence, starts from the left side of the rubber, short and repeatable side rocker step with a quick / up tempo delivery, high leg lift with hip coil around the backside, lands high in the posture with a whippy, high ¾ arm-slot with a full arm circle. FB ranged from 87-90 mph with late life above the belt, upwards of 2625 spin per Trackman Baseball on the FB (one of the higher spins we’ve seen on a FB this summer.) Mixed in a sharp breaking ball combo; 72-73 mph CB with 11/5 shape and 2166 spin / 75-77 mph SL with sharp horizontal plane showing 2263 spin. Countered with a 77-78 mph CH with small arm-side fade and command in the zone. Solid all around feel for the repertoire, confidence on the bump.

An athletic frame at 6-foot-0 tall,180 pounds. Ran a 7.34 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in an athletic position. Slight bend in the knees. Takes a short stride towards the pitcher before attacking the hitting zone. Displayed a short compact swing. Displayed hard consistent contact throughout the hitting portion. Top exit velocity was 92 MPH. Defensively- As a SS, gets himself in a good athletic position when fielding the baseball. Has smooth funnel actions. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity from the infield was 84 MPH. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable delivery. Has a projectable live arm. Takes his time to gather himself to a balanced back side and drives downhill with low effort. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. FB has late life and peaked at 83 MPH ranging from 80-81 MPH. CB is sharp with late break ranging from 71-73 MPH. Shows feel for a CH at 75-77 MPH.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Stands 5-foot-9, 150-pounds from a slim body frame, plenty of size projection in his future. wide stance at the plate, back elbow up, Barrel upright to the sky. loads back on the pitch, strides forward for timing, Barrel direct the ball on a flat level plain, shoulder-high extension, 81 mph exit velocity with clear signs of more to come as he physically matures. Defensively, quick to the ball with open glove, slightly choppy as he breaks down, fields the ball slightly deep into a stance, does show some range from a high 3/4 slot release, 71 mph arm strength across the diamond but expect that number to rise as he gets older. nice looking Prospect from the Northern Upstate NY area.
