Physical: 5-10, 150 pounds; Athletic, lean build. 7 runner in the 60.
Offensively: Switch hitter. Even setup, with feet wide spread; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a one-handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of R92/L90 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; walks into ready position while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 89 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly closed. Offensively: Switch-hitter - Mirrored setup from both sides of the plate, able to create a balanced approach starting from a tall, slightly open stance as the hands showed some rhythm by the head. Utilized a deliberate leg lift stride, reaching out towards the pitcher and initiating the bat head through a whippy, flat path into the hitting zone. Featured good rotational scores at the plate, hinting at additional power coming on top of a peak T88 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman). Recorded a 55% fly ball rate with gap to gap pop, finding barrels to the tune of a 330 foot batted ball distance (doubles power). Top of the order type hitter that won’t strikeout much; highly efficient with good bat to ball skills.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured quick feet and a hop in the “prep step” gaining leverage on the baseball to advantageous positions. Shoulder-width base and range to his glove-side, setting up a soft glove hand to funnel inward and release in/out with some pace from H ¾ slot (82 mph arm). Good athlete with natural feel in the middle of the field using a clean handle on the run across his body.
Pitching: Builds momentum well with a high leg lift before getting into back side as stride out in line, gets quality hip-shoulder separation at foot strike finishing with intent to a flat back follow through. Long fluid arm action to a over the top release.
FB: Plays with advanced life (Bauer Unit 29), ride (22.4" induced vertical) and run (17") through the zone. CB: Tends to back up with a short, tight break. CH: Slows arm a bit but able to throw for strike with arm side fade
Physical: The lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 135-pound middle infielder is going to be a high follow in the class over the next couple of years as he keeps filling out and adding strength. 7.67 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: Switch-hitter mirrored from both sides of the plate; showing dominance from his natural, right side. Started from an upright, open stance with the hands resting on the shoulder in the setup; utilized a leg lift stride in order to deliver a high-intent, flat barrel into the hitting zone. Held posture well from a low position, getting good usage out of the legs during batting practice. Peppered the ball hard with consistency through both gaps, really mature approach at the dish yielding an 86 mph peak bat-exit velocity and 320 foot max batted ball distance per Trackman Baseball. The swing played short into contact generating increased confidence in the bat to ball skills in the box (near 70% on-plane efficiency).
Defensively: Impressive defender in the middle with confidence in the glove hand. Got to the spot he wanted to in order to create angles towards the target; worked right to left at the fielding window, working with a soft glove hand off of the toes in the center of his body. Smooth exchange after funneling into the belt loop allowing for a live, accurate 82 mph arm strength across the diamond. Will stick on the left side moving forward and could be an advanced defender down the line.
