Upper 3/4 arm slot, generates power with great lower half push off and long strike to the plate, follows through well. High potential and a great projectable LHP.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Peltier stands 6-foot-2, 160-pounds with signs of more physical gains to come. He uses a repeatable delivery with fluid pace. Uses a long stride showing hip mobility, lands with a very flexed front side leg (it's possible a firmer landing could help), back shorter arm-swing, releases from a high 3/4 slot with no restrictions out in front on extension. Fastball peaked at 81 with natural arm-side tail (up one-mph since Sept.), change-up has feel and FB hand-speed with fade down in the zone at 73-74, curveball at times was loose when he rushed, upper 60's with 12/6 shape when he got out in front wit the release. Overall, we have seen Peltier several times and each time he has us impressed after the event. He's going to get bigger and stronger as time goes by which will naturally give him a velocity boost. Excited to see him this summer and possibly hitting another gear on the mound.
WNY All-Star Games (Sept. 17, 2017)
Peltier stands 6-foot-0, 155-pounds with long lanky limbs. Mechanically sound with fluid tempo. Uses a sidestep, high knee lift, uses a ball tap before driving towards home. Arm-action is shorter appearing to push the ball at times, would benefit from more length on his back circle. Lands on a bent front side, releases from a mid-3/4 slot with natural arm-side movement. Fastball sits upper 70's peaking at 80 mph with signs, with some mechanical fixed, that more velocity is in the near future for Peltier. Curveball and change up have feel, BB shows 1/7 shape at times, CH with fade. Overall, LHP with a frame to build on, ceiling could be high, this offseason matters.
East-West Battle (July 2017)
Wiry/lean frame from a ¾ arm slot. Sat 75-78, touching 79 MPH. Breaking ball with sweeping action at 64 MPH. Feels change at 71 MPH. Similar mechanics and build to his Full Circuit 2019 teammate Dylan Crowley.
Campus Series-Canisius (July 5, 2017)
Peltier stands in at 6-foot-0, 150-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Pitching- Fluid mechanics that are smooth and consistent. Shows a high leg kick above the hip crease and breaks down well with good separation. Has a loose arm with a high ¾ release point. Utilizes whole body during pitching delivery and finishes with a strong follow through. Could stiffen front side more to gain extra momentum during the pitching motion. Overall mechanics are fluid and clean. Fastball range was 77-79 MPH and peaked at 80 MPH showing good arm side run. Curveball was 71-73 MPH and showed 12/6 rotation and was consistent in the strike zone. Slider was 62-64 MPH and had an effective break. Will need to develop more to tighten rotation. Overall a solid pitching prospect in the 2019 class that will only get better with continued development and added strength.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Peltier stands 5-foot-11, 145 pounds, very lean looking with a frame ready to handle more weight. On the mound he uses a very smooth clean delivery, high knee lift with hands staying consistent around his chest. Little to no restrictions in the arm, fairly clean, releases the ball from a high 3/4 slot, falls fairly deep on his front leg and would benefit from a more firm front side. Fastball topped 77 mph staying on one plane, curveball ranged 55-57 mph with gradual break 2/7 shape. Changeup sat 66-68 with some arm-side fade. Overall, Peltier has a chance on the mound. Continued strength training and working on a firmer front side should elevate his game as he develops.
