Physical: Projectable, high-waisted, and athletic 6-foot-3, 185lb frame with strength available. The West Virginia commit ran a 7.36 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, even stance as the hands operated calmly, being slotted just at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride, initiating through a bursty, flat path into the hitting zone with lots of quickness to the swing. Able to produce connection and strength at impact with powerful wrists; notched a 40% line drive rate and 40% hard hit rate (via Trackman) pointing towards consistency during his batting practice round. Stayed in the legs and sequenced well, working up the chain to produce a T93 mph bat-exit velocity. Easy middle of the order projection with doubles power to the pull-side and carries simple actions into gameplay for success.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured advanced receiving skills from a traditional, narrow stance with hamstrings to heels. Pop times ranged from 1.87-1.95 seconds, immediately replacing the feet with some twitch out of the crouch. Stayed low with feel in catch/throw using a quicker release at H ¾ with carry to the bag (78 mph arm strength, accurate). Able to shut down the run-game, adding seasoned blocks with ability to read down angles.
2/17/21
Physical: Strong, athletic 6-foot-3, 184-pound frame with easy feel for his body in all phases of the game; impressive prospect garnering increased interest over the last year. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - The righty started from a crouched, even stance with a low hand position start just below the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride while holding his posture at the plate allowing for quick, tight turns over the right side of his body. Initiated the barrel head through a slightly uphill path creating obvious loft in the approach towards the deep LCF gap (354 foot peak batted ball distance). Hit a prolific home run to the pull-side at the NY Futures Invite this past summer, flashing noticeable extra base hit ability; generated a 74% fly ball rate and got up to a 94 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. Standout round of batting practice with even more to come, as he seems to get better each time we see him.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured solid receiving abilities from calm, quiet setups alternating between traditional and one-knee at times. Pop times ranged from 2.04-2.08 with impressive footwork towards the bag and quickness in the catch / throw phase. Stayed in the legs with ability to use the pitches’ momentum to aid in the fluidity of the transfers; 78 mph arm strength stood out with carry from the crouch.

Shot the ball to the pull side with ease, easily caught the barrel; peak Trackman exit velocity of 93 MPH. Defensively: Sits high in the crouch with wide feet; Stands up and switches the feet quickly.
