Physical: Long / lean 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame that oozes athleticism, room to continue filling out as he matures. 6.98 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Slightly bent, open stance with the hands starting high with quick rhythm as the barrel points downward over the backside. Utilized a repeatable lift and replace stride coupled with drop in the hands to initiate a flat barrel path with lift after contact. Demonstrated the ability to create leverage consistently at impact working the hands short to extension and long through it, showed off natural lift to the pull-side with extra base hit prowess (especially towards the LCF gap). Hit into a stiff front side while showing feel for the barrel, registered an impressive 23.90 max hand speed in the box per Blast Motion signaling a short time to contact coupled with a peak bat-exit velocity of 85 mph according to Trackman Baseball. Defensively: The third baseman featured average footwork with a medium center of gravity on the approach, fielded off of the center of his body with minimal momentum towards the target at the fielding window. Accurate throws across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot, average pace from the left side of the infield. INF - 72 mph Pitching: RHP - Quick pace to the delivery, started from the middle-left side of the rubber, side rocker step into a medium leg lift with slight hip coil around the back side. Landed even while getting over the front side at a high ¾ release. FB ranged from 74-77 T78 mph with an upwards of 2014 spin per Trackman Baseball, mixed in an adequate 60-62 mph breaker with short 11/5 shape, countered with a 67-68 mph CH showing good velocity difference between it and the FB.
Impressive performance by the 2022 graduate. At the plate, the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed a balanced swing. A lot more in the tank for Cochran. Defensively, Cochran sits back and waits for the baseball. Takes his time to gather himself when making throws across the infield. Throws from a mid 3/4 arm slot. On the mound, the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Cochran works with a quick controlled tempo. Smooth early hand separation and works downhill with low effort. The RHP worked with a three pitch mix. FB peaked at 79 MPH and CB ranged from 61-63 MPH. Cochran showed feel for a CH at 71-72 MPH. The 2022 graduate has a projectable frame and is a player to follow as he continues to develop.
