NY Games (June 27-29; 2016)
Schettine is a solid 6’1”, 175-pound LHP/OF. Pitching- Drop step slightly to third base side. Smooth waist high leg kick with clean hand break as the leg comes down. Cross fire action presents tough angles for both LHH and RHH. Lands square to the catcher with a 3/4 arm slot. Schettine is balanced on his landing and follow through. Not afraid to get in on RHH. FB sat 76-78 MPH; CB 66-69 MPH.
Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Jacob checks in with a prototypical pitcher's frame at 6-foot-1 175 pounds, having added 15 pounds since September of 2015. Pitching- Jacob works from center rubber with a short drop step to a belt high balance point. Arm action is long and loose from a low 3/4 slot with late whip like action. Lands soft and finishes square to the plate. FB sat 76-77 MPH, touching 78 MPH. Curveball checked in at 60 MPH with some early action to it's 11-to-5 shape. Did bury a couple of sharper offerings. Change up showed good differential and held it's plane at 67 MPH. Look for continued velocity gains and additional feel for secondary stuff.
Eastern NY All-Star Games (September 13, 2015)
Stands at 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, with an athletic body build.  Pitching - On the mound, he uses a simple side step, balanced delivery, arm action is fairly clean and loose, throws with an over the top arm slot.  He drives from balanced position and finishes over his front side consistently.  He exhibits good command with a fastball max at 77 MPH.  Curveball had some nice downward action and changeup had a little late downward movement.  With work he could easily progress into the 80’s.

Central NY Open (July 15, 2015)
Jacob features a tall and lanky, yet athletic build. He ran a 7.67 60. Pitching- Jacob demonstrates a balancde delivery that could benefit from a bit more momentum. Fastball sat 72-74 MPH, touching 75 MPH. Short arm path on the upswing of his arm action, possibly inhibiting some velocity but at the same time producing some arm side run. Breaking ball had more lateral action then depth, sweeping 10-to-4. Change up held it's location before some late arm side fade in the 65-66 MPH range. Offensively- Jacob starts outside his shoulders with a toe tap and forward gain on his stride. Takes his momentum into landing but yet stays behind the ball. Aggressive lower half rotation with a short swing path into the zone, staying above contact. Long and elevated finish that goes with and easy upper body effort. He had an exit velocity of 78 MPH. Defensively- As an outfielder Jacob stays behind the ball well and is able to work through the catch. Would like to see more aggression with his approach and into the crowhop (Arm strength at 75 MPH). Receiving flyballs on throwing side will allow for a more seamless transition.
