Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Proportional frame with a lean build at 5-foot-7, 150-pounds. Offensively – Sets up in balanced stance with feet square to pitcher and slight knee bend. Subtle, quick leg lift to get into forward stride. Keeps hands loaded near back shoulder at landing. Barrel stays inside of the ball with quick, compact swing. Gap to gap approach that produced consistent line-drive contact during BP. Level, 2-handed finish after contact. Defensively – Light on his feet with noticeable bounce in his step at SS. Funnels ball in center of his body with low hips and upper body over his glove hand. Uses side shuffle during exchange to redirect feet towards target. Short, compact arm action with high ¾ release. Keeps momentum behind throws.
July 2018
Almost sitting down in his stance, knees a near-90 degree angle. Stance open as well. Hitting in heart of order, took what was given first time up to drive in a run on grounder to second. Showed a solid throwing arm at third base, although motions were a bit stiff.
WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017)
Lean 5-foot 6 145 pound infielder who hits from the right side. Offensively- Spread stance, barrel angled off back shoulder at 30 degrees. Short stride and load of the hands; stays behind the ball and gets his best contact when lower half is aggressive; flat barrel through the zone with a two-handed finish. Balanced, contact approach. Exit velocity was 73 MPH but results played better. Defensively- Calm with his approach; loses momentum during his final steps occasionally letting the glove get beneath the body. Being able to carry his momentum into his throwing footwork will only help him work through his throws and supplement his arm strength (60 MPH). 2B projection at the collegiate level.
