A lean athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds. Offensively, the right handed hitter displayed simple load actions. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed hard consistent contact during the bp session of the NY 2020 games. Defensively, Palmieri is athletic enough to play all over the field. As an infielder, displayed active footwork. Moves well laterally. Gets rid of the baseball quickly across the diamond. In the outfield, has an aggressive approach to the baseball. Smooth transition to high ¾ arm slot. Palmieri is a must follow.

Lean frame at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Offensively – Balanced stance, square to the pitcher. Weight slightly pre-shifted onto backside before starting forward stride. Loose, quick hands. Stays compact with consistent lift in swing. Showed feel for finding barrel during BP. Projects to add more power with additional strength. Balanced finish to swing. Defensively – Athletic, controlled actions on defense. Plays with some bounce. Receives ball in center of body with wide base. Funnels quickly into compact arm action. Low ¾ slot. Uses side shuffle to create momentum when needed.
2/11/18
Palmieri is a 5-foot-10 160 pound SS/OF with a solid frame. He ran a 7.39 60 and a Home to 1st time of 4.49. Has added 10lbs to his frame since last event in November. Offensively - Sets up with an open stance and slight leg kick. Showed the ability to consistently get the barrel to the ball; some pull side strength and also used the middle of the field well. Exit velo was 77 MPH a big improvement from his last event which was 68 MPH. Defensively - Good instincts and footwork to the ball; aggressive lateral movement. Will need to continue to allow footwork to move hands through the ball when receiving. Arm strength improved from 71 MPH to 75 MPH.
11/18/17
Palmieri is a 5-foot-10 150 pound SS/OF. He ran a 7.21 60. Offensively - Right handed hitter with an exit velo of 68 MPH. Utilizes an open stance with a high leg kick, struggled making consistent contact. Flyball results with lift in swing; aggressive upper body swings. Defensively - Good footwork, with hands working toward the ball. Infield velo was 71 MPH. Showed good lateral range and the ability to make throws at a variety of angles. May project better at 2B over the long term but as he matures his arm strength could improve and keep him on both side of the bag.
