Winter Open (February 11, 2018)
Diorio stands in at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds with a strong athletic frame. Ran a 7.34 – 60, slightly shy of his previous best mark of 7.13 set in February 2017, he also ran an impressive 4.19 home-to-first time. Offensively- Righty shows a smooth trigger setting himself up into a good hitting position. Quick hands to the zone with a level barrel path utilizing his whole body with good lower rotation. Demonstrated consistent live drive potential driving the ball up the middle and to the pull side during batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH, tying his previous best. Defensively- Good approach and footwork to the baseball. Fluid though the ball gaining ground towards intended target. Shows an appropriate outfielder arm swing and moved well left/right. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 73 MPH, 4 MPH higher than his previous best mark of 69 MPH set back in February 2017. Pitching- Righty sets up in the middle of the rubber with a mid-thigh leg raise into a good power position. Could engage lower half more getting down the mound to incorporate more lower body throughout the process of the pitch. Good arm action utilizing a high ¾ release point into a strong follow though. Fastball was 74-75 MPH and peaked at 76 MPH showing arm side run. Curveball showed sharp brake and sat 61-64 MPH. Change up range was 68-69 MPH and will need more development off the fastball. Overall a talented prospect to keep an eye on at future events.

Utilizes good lower body rotation getting whole-body involved in the swing. Demonstrated good plate coverage making solid contact driving the ball up the middle and to the pull side. Overall a clean, fluid swing that will benefit from added strength. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 MPH, 5 MPH shy of his best recorded mark of 84 MPH set in February 2017. Defensively- Good footwork and approach to get underneath the baseball. Shows a quick transition from glove to throwing hand with an appropriate outfielder arm swing. Could use more aggressive footwork towards intended target with a downhill throwing motion. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 65 MPH.
Winter Open (February 28, 2017)
Diorio checks in at 5-foot-11 175 pounds and is a RHP and 1B. He ran a 7.13 60 and a 4.37 home-to-1B. Offensively- Even setup with a flat barrel; short take back of the hands with a slight toe-tap for a stride. Swing stays on a level plane through the zone with some early weight transfer; repeats efforts with pull-side line drive results. Peak exit velocity off of the tee was 84 MPH. Defensively- Upright setup; glove gets just far enough out in front of his body. Can get flat footed at times when transitioning from fielding to throwing. High arm slot with a peak velocity of 69 MPH from 1B to 3B. More in the tank here as evidence from the mound. Additional footwork will help him harness some momentum into his throws. Pitching- Short front/side step pivoting up to a mid chest balance point. Arm action is long and straight back with his reach; stays closed and gets over his front side consistently. Works downhill from a high 3/4 arm slot with some heaviness to his fastball at 74-75 MPH. CB has some early 12-to-6 action that could be a solid secondary offering once tightened up.
