Has an athletic projectable frame at 5-foot-8, 145 pounds. Ran a 6.91 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The left handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Puts all his weight on his back side and uses a slight leg lift for timing and balance before attacking the hitting zone. Throws his hands into the hitting zone. Shows a flat bat path. Made hard consistent contact to the middle and pull side of the field. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Top exit velocity was 85 MPH. Defensively- Showed active footwork. Stays under control when approaching the baseball. Stays behind the baseball when fielding it. Shows a smooth exchange and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity was 86 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a must follow.
2.15.19 Athletic 5-foot-8, 135 pounds OF. Ran a 6.99 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The left hitting OF stands tall with loose hands in the box. Simple load with a short step to the pitcher before entering the hitting zone. Displays quick hands with a flat barrel and clears the hips through the hitting zone. Shows some pull side pop. Exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively- Active footwork and gains ground after fielding the ball. A smooth exchange throwing the ball with a high ¾ slot. Throws are accurate and have carry at 83 MPH. The 2020 OF is quick with a 6.99 60 yard dash and a 3.98 Home to 1B. The OF projects for all three positions at the next level.
CNY ASG (September 30, 2018)
Athletic frame with a lean build at 5-foot-8, 135-pounds. Offensively – Narrow, upright stance in the box. Feet set up square to the pitcher. Uses low leg lift to load before getting into stride. Hands work quickly to the ball. Barrel stays level thru the zone. Showed consistent line-drive contact with future potential to lift the ball more to his pull-side. Full hip rotation after contact. Defensively – Quick, active feet in the OF when working thru the baseball. Funnels into throws quickly. Whippy, fluid arm action with high ¾ release point. Throwing actions project well for the OF. Uses a step behind shuffle to create momentum on throws.
Oswego (July 25, 2018)
Wiry, athletic frame at 5-foot-8 135 pounds for the left-handed hitting outfielder. Was 4.03 out of the box to 1B. Offensively- Balanced setup; quiet load of the hands with a short stride that is down in time. Easy effort up top with a short stroke; stays on plane with line drive results. As physicality is improved he'll see additional carry to the gaps. Defensively - Aggressive approach; quick release and flashes some arm strength (83 MPH). Should project to all 3 spots, better suited for LF/CF presently.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Lean 5-foot-6 120 pound SS who ran a respectable 7.08 60. Offensively- Even setup with quiet take back of the hands; small stride forward with a heel raise. Rotational approach with hands and lower half working to the ball at the same time; inconsistent swing path but did show some punch through the middle and to his pull side. Exit velocity peaked at 76 MPH. Defensively- Active footwork with approach; hands get well out in front of the body; short infielder's arm action with an adequate transfer. Throws will need more carry but plenty of time for the 2020 grad to improve on his peak 71 MPH throw across the diamond. Decent foundation to pull from on both sides of the ball.
