Top Performer Spotlight: 2020 OF Chris Bonacci (West Genesee HS)

Dan Cevette
President, New York

Over 600 players attended our Preseason All-State events spanning from Feb. 15 - Feb. 24. 100's of players caught the eyes of our professional scouting staff, all with dreams of playing baseball at the next-level. Over the course of the next few months I will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out at the Preseason Events. Let's get started.

Scouting Report

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: This was Bonacci's fourth event with PBR NY and it was his best showing yet. If you go look at his profile, you will see his progression, especially when looking at his profile pics. He's very athletic evidenced by his sub 7.0 60 time, he's aggressive defensively and the arm keeps growing. At the plate I saw a more smooth, repeatable barrel path, and signs of more bat-speed. He's still slightly undersized, so with a focus on strength and size gains, the sky is really the limit for the CNY OF prospect.

2.15.19

Athletic 5-foot-8, 135 pounds OF. Ran a 6.99 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The left hitting OF stands tall with loose hands in the box. Simple load with a short step to the pitcher before entering the hitting zone. Displays quick hands with a flat barrel and clears the hips through the hitting zone. Shows some pull side pop. Exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively- Active footwork and gains ground after fielding the ball. A smooth exchange throwing the ball with a high ¾ slot. Throws are accurate and have carry at 83 MPH. The 2020 OF is quick with a 6.99 60 yard dash and a 3.98 Home to 1B. The OF projects for all three positions at the next level.
