Athletic frame with some projection left at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Offensively – Narrow, upright set-up from the left side. Starts square to the pitcher, hands high. Balanced forward stride into an athletic base. Hands get level to ball and produce smooth, left-handed swing with lift. Stay inside the ball with compact swing. Showed consistent line drive contact during BP. Fluid hitting actions with balanced finish. Defensively – Balanced, controlled actions on defense. Moves laterally with fluid tempo. Light on his feet. Funnels ball in quickly. Throws with quick, compact arm action. Mostly low ¾ release but showed ability to manipulate arm slot. Big bodied defender with the feet and actions to stick in the INF.
7/11/18
Physical, athletic build at 6-foot-1 175 pounds; the MIF ran a 7.13 60 and a 4.41 home-to-1B from the left side. Offensively- Balanced setup; loads weight to back leg during stride phase; elastic with hands into the zone showing barrel whip and some drive to his pull side gap. Exit velocity at 78 MPH but plays much higher. Future power potential exists. Defensively- Middle infield actions; soft glove with active feet, good bounce in his step. Ranges well with a quick snap like release that plays from both sides of the bag. Would like to see more of a shuffle step with some effort behind his throws to see his full left side potential. Intriguing athlete to watch and follow his development.
