CNY ASG (September 30, 2018)
Athletic frame with some projection left at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Offensively – Narrow, upright set-up from the left side. Starts square to the pitcher, hands high. Balanced forward stride into an athletic base. Hands get level to ball and produce smooth, left-handed swing with lift. Stay inside the ball with compact swing. Showed consistent line drive contact during BP. Fluid hitting actions with balanced finish. Defensively – Balanced, controlled actions on defense. Moves laterally with fluid tempo. Light on his feet. Funnels ball in quickly. Throws with quick, compact arm action. Mostly low ¾ release but showed ability to manipulate arm slot. Big bodied defender with the feet and actions to stick in the INF.
WHAT TO EXPECT
"Myers is an athletic 6-foot-1, 175 pound MIF. At the plate, Myers showed pop from the pull side at last year’s CNY workout. Defensively, Myers has simple actions and shows a good enough arm to make the plays in the infield. Right now he projects as a 2B or 3B at the next level. His physical size and LHH power potential could point him to the direction of next level 3B. We’re excited to see how Myers has progressed in next month’s Preseason - East event "
