May 2018
O’Connell (L/L) is 5-foot-9 150 pound and plays OF and  pitches. Hitting in the 6th spot in the lineup, he went 1 for 2, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, HP, SAC bunt, and SB for Horseheads.  He drove a 1-0 85 mph fastball well over the 377 foot CF fence for a 3 run HR. O’Connell is a sub 6.8 second 60 runner and covers gap to gap in the outfield.

Fall Kickoff Showcase - Millersville University, PA (August 178, 2017)
5-foot-9, 150-pound primary outfielder impressed with a balanced left-hand swing from a square set up.  Stays short to the baseball and hits off of a stiff front side creating a bat exit velocity of 90 mph.  Barreled the baseball consistently while demonstrating the ability to drive both gaps.  Ran a 6.77 60-yard dash and displayed athletic defensive actions with straight line carry on throws of 84 mph. Sat 77-79 on the mound with a compact delivery out of a high 3/4 arm slot.  Pounded zone with easy arm action.  Curveball showed 1/7 rotation at 61-62 and changeup was thrown at near fastball arm speed at 66-68. Uncommitted senior will likely be off the board in the near future.
New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Stands 5-foot-7, 130-pounds with a slender frame. The 2018 speedster showed great promise with a 6.91 60-yard dash, 3.99 home to 1st from the left side and an 86-mph exit velocity, and a 78-mph arm from the OF. His tools play well above what his frame would have you guess. Offensively- Sets up wide and uses a short step forward, rests bat on shoulder and loads with flat angle of the bat. Stays direct to the ball and shows ability to repeat mechanics at the plate. Defensively- Sets up well behind the ball and shows good feel for the game in the outfield. Works aggressively through everything and doesn't get cheated on his throws to the bags. Though the body is undersized at the moment he's certainly one to keep eyes on as he plays the game the right way and has speed from the left side.

Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Stands 5-foot-7, 130-pounds with a lean athletic frame.  Showed a smooth lefty stroke and good athletic ability in the outfield.  Offensively- Sets up just outside shoulder width and uses a small, consistent stride.  Bat loads flat and stays compact throughout the zone.  Flashed an 80-mph exit velocity but shows more in the tank as he develops.  Defensively- Sets up behind the ball and fields it clean out in front. Shows good arm action that may translate to success on the mound as well.
WNY All-Star Games  (August 27, 2015)
Brayden  Stands at 5-foot-6, 125 pounds, with a lean athletic body build.  He ran a 3.98 Home to 1st from the left-hand side. Defensively- He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a low 3/4 arm slot, plays through the ball nicely and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 73 MPHOffensively- At the plate setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging with some uphill tilt, with a high finish through the ball.  His exit velocity was 78 MPH.

Futures Games (July 7-9, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-6, 125-pounds, with a lean athletic body build.  Brayden has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a low 3/4 arm slot, plays through the ball nicely and has accuracy on the target.  At the plate setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging with some uphill tilt, with a high finish through the ball.
Futures Prospects Showcase (February 28, 2015)
O'Connell stands and athletic and strong 5-foot-6, and 125-pounds.  Showed great baseball actions.  From the left side he stays tall and closed.  Small bat waggle rhythm, hands drift back slightly on the pitch.  Bat angle starts flat.  Back side stays tall. Level swing with good extension.  Stays balanced, finishes high.  Athletic/aggressive swing.  Shows above average pop for his age (75mph) exit velocity.   Should work on bringing his weight forward slightly to transfer his weight before contact.  In the field he runs very well.  (7.19) 60yd dash.  Moves well from side to side.  Receives the ball out in front and on his glove side.  Should work on his transfer.  Mid 3/4 arm slot, with carry.  Good arm strength (71)mph.  Would like to see him charge the baseball aggressively.  All around, fun to watch.  Should be someone to keep and eye on in the future.
