Crusaders Workout (February 10, 2018)
Bartziokas is a 5-foot-11 171 pound SS/RHP with a solid frame. He ran a 7.36 60 and a recorded a Home to 1st time of 4.25. Offensively - He sets up with an even stance from the left side, hands positioned near his back shoulder. Utilizes a toe tap into the load phase of his swing. Attacks the baseball with his lower half, but gets a little out in front which causes an imbalance of his weight shift. Exit velocity was 82 MPH off the tee. Demonstrated the ability to get the barrel on the ball and use the middle of the field. Be conscious of keeping hands inside the baseball, which will prevent ‘armbar’ at contact. Defensively - Upright setup with active footwork to the ball; continue to work on momentum through the ball and fielding hands out in front; infield velocity was 75 MPH. May project towards 2B/3B over long term. Pitching - Sets up toward the right side of the mound, quick pace with long arm from a 3/4 slot. Max FB was 77 MPH, sitting 74-76 MPH. CH 68-69 and CB 63-66 MPH. Showed the ability to stay down in the zone with all his pitches, some mechanical fixes will go a long way. Good base to work from on the mound.

Defensively- Active, choppy steps into the ball. Somewhat flat footed when fielding but hands are out in front. Able to close on the ball and showed some range, will need to improve double play feeds and continue to maintain his momentum into his throws across the diamond. Arm strength reach 75 MPH across the diamond. Pitching- Sets up center rubber using a short side step up to a mid chest balance point. Lands slightly to arm side but closed with arm a 3/4 arm slot. Repeats dleivery and showed a quick arm peaking at 74 MPH with his FB, sitting 70-74 MPH. Breaking ball featured some late tilt at 59-62 and he worked in a change at 66-67 MPH.
