NYS Games (July 6-8, 2020)
Physical: Projectable 6-foot, 205-pound starter’s build with advanced feel for his body and well proportioned strength throughout the frame. Iona College commit. Pitching: RHP - Quick pace on the bump utilizing an aggressive, high leg kick at the top of the stack with quality hip-shoulder separation and arm speed through an athletic, high ¾ power slot. The fastball played with some added velocity at 85-87 T88 mph in the zone with a top of 2278 spin per Trackman Baseball. Mixed well featuring a sharp, two-plane 74-76 mph CB with 11/5 shape and swing and miss potential moving forward. Threw both with confidence in any count.
Strengths
Strong, durable frame with pace and properly displaced effort whose shown success up in the zone. Has shown the ability to throw a high spin curveball that will help get him on the pro radar through his college years. Hard worker that will continue to develop velocity.
What we'd like to see
Continued development of his change up so that at best case scenario he will will have a three pitch arsenal that will allow him to enter college in a starter's role. One can always reverse that course and go to the bullpen with two strong offerings. When from the stretch we'd like to see that balance of being able to alter his sets and utilize a slide step when needed.
