6/6/18 - 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame. SS/RHP Elie Kligman made the trip over from Nevada and proved to be one of the more polished prospects in attendance. Kligman appears to be a true switch hitter, showing an advanced swing from both sides and found the barrel multiple times in live game action; 85 mph exit velocity. Appears be be type of guy who can just flat hit. Middle infield defensive profile. Showed range to both sides, clean transfer, and a quick arm; 81 mph infield velocity. Also posted a 7.35 60-yard dash. Kligman also pitched where he showed a smooth, effortless delivery that produced quick arm speed from a ¾ slot. Fastball ranged from 76-78 mph with life to his arm side. His change up was thrown at 68-72 mph with fastball arm speed and flashed impressive sinking action. Also showed a curveball at 58-64 mph with proper 11/5 shape and spin when released out in front of his body.
11/4/18 5-foot-10, 160. Kligman has a strong, sturdy body with a long, loose arm and present pitchability from 3/4 slot with area control. Fastball ranged 79-83, Curveball 70, changeup 71-72. Fastball displayed consistent sink as did the changeup. The 3/4 curveball possessed nice shape with occasional bite.He displayed area control of 3 pitches with a repeatable delivery. At the plate, Kligman is a capable switch-hitter with more strength in his barrel from the right side. He employs a patient approach at the plate.
2/10/19 -Well proportioned, 5-foot-11, 160, Kligman is a sturdy bodied player with room for weight and strength gains. His arm is true with solid carry and enough strength to make plays in the six holes as well as up the middle. He has a feel for footwork and rhythm with various feeds and groundballs. Kligman is athletic enough to play just about any position on the field. He is a switch hitter with a stronger top hand from the right side, but a little more loose quickness from the left side. He maintains a nice rhythm and connection in his leg kick and “cocking” of his hands from both sides of the plate with a solid swing plane. Pure foot speed may lend better to second or third base down the line, but I wouldn’t rule out a move behind the dish for long term success.
