Fellows, who committed to Oregon the day after the event, shined in all phases, and looked the part of a true shortstop at the next level. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds he has some lean, defined strength throughout a wiry-athletic frame that will likely continue to add, and provides for fluid actions both defensively and offensively. At the plate, the right-handed hitter took multiple mature rounds, spraying loud contact to all fields with minimal effort. Starting open with the hands held high, he squares with a short stride that allows free separation down and back before working directly to the ball with a slight uphill path. There is some quickness to the hands with minor collapsing of the back side, and Fellows showed some intent to work to the opposite field throughout. The exit velocities were eye-opening as he averaged 97.41 mph per Trackman, and was as high as 105.63 mph while hardly breaking a sweat. His hard hit percentage (91.7%) also stood out as he exhibited quality barrel accuracy. With the wind whipping on a cool evening, Fellows closed out his workout by demonstrating his clean, confident hands at shortstop. He bounced around with crisp footwork, and took no issue with any tough hops that were sent his way, and made each play look routine with a quick release that still allowed his arm strength (88 mph across) to present itself. Though CSN did not run at the event, Fellows has shown off his speed in the past which will only help elevate his status as a prospect. He would likely have gotten multiple looks this spring from MLB Scouts, but with the arms that CSN is prepared to roll out, I would expect nearly every at-bat to be documented which should aid in his value come July 2021. A product of Silverado HS in Las Vegas, and played for one of the legends of Nevada, Brian Whitaker, who won 565 games as the 2nd winnest coach in state history. Fellows is an athletic tightly wound 5-11 185 streamlined UTL player, with versatility to play at 3 INF spots, and is adding the OF to his game. A .417 hitter with 13-15 SB’s as a true freshman in 2019, playing the MIF and made an impact right away. The overall game isn’t toolsy, but He’s a baseball player! Features a semi spread open stance w/his hands waggling over his back shoulder for rhythm and timing. Gets to the launch position as he lifts his foot to land soft on his toe and squared up with his lower ½, in putting together a short direct compact stroke with a fluid efficient pass at the baseball. Whips the bat into a full two hand finish and repeats his swing. From SS, he showed smooth actions with educated feet and moved athletically with solid actions to field out front and playing through the ball. His throws were clean and online, showing easy avg to solid avg arm strength. An avg runner, who can steal bases and plays the game the right way. Look for a big year from this kid come spring. (Scholzen)

"Dax Fellows is a phenom. One of the best all-around athletes to play at CSN. He is quick, has great instincts, plays the game hard 100% of the time, and plays the game the right way.” Fellows is 5’11”, 185 lbs. is a true utility guy with time at shortstop, second base, third base and even centerfield in his freshman season for the Coyotes. Dax hit .417 with gap to gap power against elite pitching early in our season paired with a 6.64, 60. He is a high-end prospect that has top level D1 schools and pro scouts buzzing. He is the only remaining Coyote to finish in the PBR JUCO Wire: Top 100 Draft Prospects and will be an exciting guy to track this spring. (Harrison)
