Physical- Solid 5-foot-10, 185 lbs frame. 7.54 runner in the 60.
Offensively- Balanced stance with a wide setup, hands level with his ears. Uses a small leg lift and bat waggle for timing. Fast hands and a short stroke lead to a quick bat through the zone. Has a tendency to be upper-half dominant in his swing, but gets away with it due to the strength he has in the upper half. He could get into his legs to help generate more power. Max exit velo of 91 MPH.
Defensively- Traditional catcher’s setup with a narrower base that begins to widen in throwing scenarios. Gets out of the crouch very quickly driving off his back leg and is able to gain momentum towards his target while transferring the ball to his throwing hand. Gets it out of the glove and out of his hand quickly, showing an accurate arm one-hopping many throws on the bag. 1.97-2.12 pop time, 74 MPH arm strength from the crouch.
