7/24/19

Rowan has a 6-foot, 175-pound athletic frame; RHP. On the mound, he used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses easy effort in his delivery. He sat with his fastball at 82-83 mph; and topped out at 84 mph; showed consistent accuracy on his fastball as well. He located his curveball for a strike at 71-72 mph;  shows consistent accuracy and sharp 11/5 bite..

9/23/18

9.23.18 Upperclass Games (NJ)
Rowan is no stranger to PBR events and has shown very well in multiple state's events since this summer. In July was a top performer at the NJ State Games and in August topped at 86 MPH in South Carolina, which was the top pitching velocity of the event. Rowan's mechanics are smooth and effortless and creates natural armside carry on his fastballs – which is complimented with a changeup with armside fade at 72-73. Velocity was down a tick since the summer – topping at 82 and sitting mostly 78-80. Breaking ball had 10/4 break when it was thrown for strikes. Rowan's broad-shouldered frame bodes well in the future for more velocity, and it is certainly clear that he can get there from this past August. Don't be surprised if Rowan comes out next spring and is sitting in the mid-to-upper 80's once the weather gets warmer. Certainly a follow on the mound.

7/23/18

7.23.18 New Jersey State Games
Rowan has a lean, athletic build at 5-foot-11 160-pounds. Fastball velocity topped at 83 MPH and sat mostly 81-83 throughout his inning of work at the showcase event. Featured a breaking ball with gradual 10/4 break at 71-72 and a changeup with armside run at 69-71. Smooth, athletic start to his delivery into a tall, firm balance point on back leg. Drives off of back leg with stability and strength into a firm front foot. Front foot lands straight to homeplate. Will finish slightly toward third base side on occasion. Arm action is short and quick – but still clean. High-3/4 slot with some run to his fastball. Able to fill up the strike zone with three pitches. Finishes over front lead leg with extension. More velocity in the tank.

Athletic RHP with present strength and room for additional development. 5 foot 11 frame with good length in the limbs and hand size. Worked to a balance point above the belt with a slightly rotational delivery. Landed balanced to slightly open and worked downhill with a shorter arm stroke from a high 3/4 release point. FB showed good life through the zone and ASR at times. (81-83 T86) Complimented the FB with a tight CB from 69-72 with matching arm speed and 10/4 shape. CH was thrown with confidence, pitch was heavy with fade to the arm side. (71-73)
