McIntosh possesses a tall and projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 178-pounds. Begins his windup with his feet slightly offset towards the first base side. Never drops his hands down low throughout his delivery. Clean mechanics. Long and loose-limbed, definitely more in the tank velo wise. Efficient lower half. FB with late ride at 86-87 MPH. SL with big sweeping action across the zone at 74-76 MPH. Showed a CH at 79-80 MPH. Ripped off a few CT’s, which were tight with late lateral action when he stayed on top, at 83-84 MPH.
2/15/21
6-foot-2, 165lb wiry frame; 8.2 runner in the 60 yard dash. At the plate, starts straight up with minimal bend in the knees and a lot of wiggle in the barrel to keep the upper half loose. Uses a small toe tap and a stride toward the pitcher to load the lower half, keeps the upper half held back to create some separation in the hips and shoulders. Throws the hands down at the ball and turns his back shoulder to create an uphill swing. Strikes the ball deep on the plate and induces line drives to all parts of the field, popped an 84 MPH max exit velo. In the infield, McIntosh moves with long strides to the ball and keeps his feet under himself. Fields out in front and funnels to the belt with a quick transfer to throw from a high 3/4 slot with exceptional arm speed.
On the mound, McIntosh works with good tempo and stays tall in his upper half. Hinges nicely at the hip and moves down the slope with ease, throws off a firm front leg. The fastball jump out of his hand at 81-82 MPH with good life in the zone. Mixes in a curveball and slider combo at 68-70 MPH and 68-69 MPH, respectively. Both pitches have good shape and swing and miss qualities. Flashes a changeup at 71-74 MPH that has some fade to the arm side when thrown to the bottom of the zone.
