2024 Rankings: NJ's Top Uncomitted RHPs
January 16, 2023
A modest 2024 NJ Player Rankings update was completed shortly before the New Year that featured a couple new names to surface as the top players in the state - most notably, Virginia commit INF Luke Dickerson taking over the No. 1 slot.
Sifting through the ranks, there are still a ton of talented players on the board in this class. With solid spring high school seasons and continuing that momentum into the summer, these players could come off the board quickly. Let's delve into the top names by position, starting off with the top RHPs.

Top Ranked Uncommitted 2024 RHP
Daviel Fernandez RHP / Gloucester Catholic, NJ / 2024Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 12
Broad shouldered and physical for this grad class. Fernandez has a fastball that has some heavy life at 84-86 (87) which induces weak contact. Flashes feel for a breaker at 73-74 with smaller, cutter-like action and a changeup at 79-81.

Declan Leary RHP / Red Bank Catholic, NJ / 2024Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 14
Arguably the most polished of the uncommitted group, Leary is a strike throwing machine with above average stuff for his age. Endured a difficult Red Bank Catholic sophomore campaign as one of the Casey's most trusted arms, Leary pounds the bottom half of the zone at 83-85 with more in the tank. Flashes above average feel for a curveball at 70-73 with 2247 avg spin and a slider at 73-76 with slurvy attributes. Strong, athletic frame at 6-foot 192-pounds, expect Leary to be a workhorse for Red Bank Catholic in 2023.

Roger Dreher RHP / Southern Regional, NJ / 2024Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 17
Dreher is a guy to watch in 2023 as he reclaims his spot atop the Southern Regional rotation after sitting out 2022 nursing an injury. Lean, athletic build at 6-foot-2 185-pounds, Dreher's fastball sits comfortably in the mid 80s and touches upper 80s at times. His slider shows promise, at 75-78 and 2418 avg rpm, (-9.8"HM) Dreher is an under the radar guy that can make an impact this spring.

Cole Stefanelli RHP / Shore Regional, NJ / 2024Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 18
Stefanelli made an impact last spring for Shore Regional, posting a solid 30.1 IP and 30K season and carried that into the summer representing Team NJ at the Future Games. Solidly built at 6-foot 190-pounds, Stefanelli is a mid-80s arm with some pitchability with a curveball at 72-76 and a slider at 71-73. Expect Stefanelli to be a go to arm again in 2023.
