2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Brush has a broad shouldered, athletic frame at 6-foot-3 195-pounds. One of the top performers from the event. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.95-seconds, exit velocity topped at 90 MPH. Offensively – Starts in a tall, slightly opened stance with hands high above back shoulder and bat parallel to the ground. As pitch comes in, uses a foot stride to start swing. Hands load down and back with some rhythm and fluidity. Explosive hips and torque through the zone produce gap-to-gap power. Finishes balanced with some lift in follow through. Short, compact and quick swing through the zone. Defensively – took reps at 3B. Throws topped at 87 MPH across the infield, which was one of the top infield velocities from the event. Throws had some armside run with a short stab to arm action. Pitchingfastball topped at 86 MPH and sat mostly 83-85 in his two innings of work. Showed a curveball with smaller 11/5 break at 71-74 MPH and a changeup with armside fade and sink. Tall, athletic balance point, true-3/4 slot with slight pause in arm action going down the mound. Lands with a square landing foot and strong landing leg. Balanced throughout delivery. Fastball showed armside life with sinking action. Two-way prospect at next level.

WWBA Underclass 10/8/16

Brush has a physical 6-foot-2 185-pound frame. Sat 81-83 but got fastball up to 84-85 and touched 87. Low-3/4 slot produces  heavy sink and run. Breaking ball has small depth. Changeup looked to be the better of the two offspeed pitches at 75 mph with armside fade. Offensively- tall strong looking stance, hands high above shoulder. Uses a small stride to start load.

Brush is a lean athletic RHP with a very high ceiling. Up to 88, sitting 85-87 from a 3/4 slot. Gets heavy armside sink and run on his fastball and weak contact. Delivery is slow and methodical, uses a high gloveside going down the mound to generate some leverage. Landing is square and athletic, rarely falls off the mound on either side. High follow prospect.
