Weland has sturdy-strong build at 5-foot-10 190-pounds. Fastball topped at 84 mph, sat mostly 82-84 with minimal effort from a high-3/4 slot. Curveball had some 11/5 depth at 66-68 mph and showcased a straight changeup at 74-76 mph. Athletic in balance point, coils upper body. Lands slightly closed off, shoulders are level as he goes down the mound. Closed landing causes him to shift weight onto outside of landing foot on release. Threw all three pitches for strikes down in the zone.
