3/22/24
Left-hander has created buzz in the 2024 season with his strikeout rate and whiff rate. Stands at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, his slider shined in this look and is a true weapon, with late horizontal movement, getting bad and awkward swings from both-handed hitters. Works from the stretch, working level, and back to an online landing, athletic arm action has some length getting to a ¾ slot. In two appearances, working one inning on Friday and three innings on Sunday, Wilson ranged 89-92 mph, holding 92 on Friday night. Shows the ability to attack both sides of the plate as well as run it off the glove side, under right-handed hitters, and away from left-handed hitters. The slider was 82-84 on Friday and ranged 80-83 in Sunday’s lengthened outing, spinning at 2600-2800rpm. At 23 years of age, Wilson will receive consideration as a reliever who could move to higher levels of the minors with his slider as a weapon but the fastball at average to below could be a flag.
3/08/24

Another 23-year-old reliever for the 49ers, Wilson might have a current 5.56 ERA, but he has struck out a whopping 24 hitters in 11.1 innings. Like his teammate Rossi, the lefthanded Wilson has “now” stuff with a 90-92 mph fastball and an 81-83 slider with 2,900-plus spin. Lefties who have swing/miss stuff are always in demand at any level and Wilson could be another 49er who is quick through a minor league system.

09.25.18

East Carolina commit.  Average 6-foot-3, 209 pound frame.  Slider is a known commodity and he worked to attack with the fastball in this early fall outing.  Fastball ranged 82-87.  Erratic at times as the direction can be very rotational.  When dialed into his line, the fastball has some arm side action.  Slider peaked at 74.  Hard and tight, there is a high ceiling on the pitch.  Raw at this point, but the size, arm speed, and spin ability make for an intriguing potential.

06.17.17
Fastball ranged 83-85 from a strong arm action and high-3/4 slot.  Works on-line with an easy arm that is easy to dream on future potential.  Rotational at times, falling to the 3B side and erratic up and arm side misses coming in groupings.  Lands on-line with the toe strike in an open position.   Better tempo to the body and arm on slider at 73-75.  Hard sweeping shape, late, buried under right handed hitter swings.  Slider is equipped to produce swing and miss vs. left and right handed hitters.  Threw one change at 78, a distant third pitch.

03.01.17
Athletic build in the 6-foot-2, 200 pound frame.  Simple delivery, with an average leg kick and good head stability.  Repeats with ease.  Fastball ranges 84-87, bumping 88 with a quick hand on occasion.  Touched one 89 early in a put-away situation.  Shows an ability to locate to arm-side with increased feel for the glove side this spring.  Slider has premium potential, touching 74 with hard, late tilt that can boar under right handed hitters' bats.
