A SEMO recruit, the 6-foot-5, 205 pound righty sat 88-89 mph on his low-spin, running fastball. Working down the mound and from an over the top slot, he mixed in a below average slider/cutter at 83 mph and low-spin (1,360 rpm) sinking changeup at 79-80 mph during his 22-pitch appearance. The change was thrown with fastball arm speed, even further aiding the effectiveness of the pitch. Mueller also showed good deception, combining a high leg lift and a closed landing while hiding the ball behind his backside with a bow-and-arrow arm action and releasing out of his shirt sleeve.
Mueller is a strong 6-foot-4 192-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri's 2021 class. Mueller has a short take away from glove, aggressive down the mound, over the top arm slot, hides ball until release, high leg kick with direction to the plate during stride, fastball is heavy with late running action, 85-87 mph, touching 88 mph, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape with late action, has depth, throws for strikes, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, late sinking action, 71-73 mph, watch for increases to come with arm action and strength.
2/10/18 - Mueller is a 6-foot-3 182-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Mueller throws with some effort from a high three quarters arm slot, in line stride, smooth acceleration in delivery, fastball works 78-82 mph, slight late run, will drop arm slot on breaking ball, 10-to-4 sweeping action, 67-69 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 67-71 mph, flashes late sinking action.
