9/23/18 - Laughlin is a compact 5-foot-8 133-pound left handed hitting shortstop and right handed pitcher in Missouri's 2020 class.  He runs a 7.46 60 and a 4.47 home to first.  At the plate, he has a slightly open upright stance.  He has loose hands and slightly drops them and adds a small leg kick.  He consistently squares balls up hitting line drives gap to gap and flashing some power.  Defensively, he has quick feet and works through the ball toward first base.  He has a good exchange with a high three quarter arm slot with long arm action getting his velocity up to 77 mph across the diamond.  

2/10/18 - Laughlin is a 5-foot-8 133-pound left-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri's 2020 class.  He ran a 7.52 60 and has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and open stance, in line stride, loose hands with quick bat speed, natural lift to bat path, feel for the barrel, consistent line drives gap to gap during hitting evaluations.  On the infield, 71 mph positional velocity, high three quarters release, gains ground after transfer, clean exchange, smooth footwork to the ball, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Laughlin has an over the top arm slot, compact delivery, quick to the plate, works in line down the mound, throws with regular effort, fastball at 78-80 mph, some with late run, throws knuckleball at 62-64 mph, late sink, throws arm side, change up at 61-63 mph, fading action, near fastball arm speed.
