7/22/15 - Ellis is a 6-foot-215-pound right-handed hitting catcher, first baseman and right-handed pitcher in the 2016 class.  Ellis runs an 8.03 60 and has an 87 mph exit velo, one of the best for the event.  During batting practice, has a middle approach, hitting mostly line drives with a level path and strong lower half, smooth load.  Behind the plate, had pop times between 2.15 and 2.25, fluid footwork and clean exchange, mostly accurate throws, 67 mph velo.  On the infield, 69 mph positional velo, over the top release, clean exchange, accurate throws.  During his bullpen, 70-72 mph fastball, 64-66 curveball, gradual 11-to-5 action, change-up with fastball arm speed, 65-69 mph, high percentage of strikes, controlled delivery.
