La Mantia is a 6-foot 180o-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right handed shortstop in Missouri's 2019 class.  He ran a 7.64 60 and had an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open set up, wrap in his hands, big leg kick, level bat path, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, soft hands, fluid feet, plays through the ball, long arm action, high 3/4 arm slot, carry on throws at 77 mph. On the mound, La Mantia has an athletic build and lean frame. Delivery shows multiple arm slots, throws mostly from high three-quarter slot but will mix in a side arm slot, high leg lift, smooth clean arm action from both angles, repeats with downhill tilt, higher arm slot has more effort in the delivery. Fastball sits 81-84, tops at 87 from the high three-quarter slot and drops to 79-80 mph from the lower arm slot with more arm side run, curveball shows sharp action and late bite from both arm slots. Curveball velo ranges from 68-70 from the high-three quarter slot, tight bite and 11-to-5 shape, breaking ball form the lower arm slot is tough to pick up from a right-handed hitters perspective.

2/10/18 - La Mantia is a strong 6-foot 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.82 60 and has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, short in line stride, aggressive bat speed, some lift to swing path, mostly pull side hard contact, occasional power to pull side.  On the infield, 77 mph positional velocity, three quarters arm speed, quick transfer with fluid footwork, clean exchanges, works through the ball, mostly accurate throws.  La Mantia has an over the top arm slot for fastball, throw two-seam fastball from lower slot, high leg lift, hands work with knee raise, works in line down the mound fastball works 77-80 mph, two seam running acton from lower slot, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, mostly 72-76 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 shape, 67-71 mph, change up at 72-76 mph, near fastball arm speed.
