Schaap

8/9/13 Schaap was one of our favorite pitchers.  He threw the ball extremely well at Unsigned Senior Games.  Fastball ranged between 79-82mph but he did a good job of changing speeds. Has good feel for his breaking ball and can throw it at two different speeds.  He also showcased a good change that he threw for strikes at will.  There is a little bit of funk in his delivery but he is able to repeat.

6/12/13 6-foot-2 RHP fastball starting to come along.  Improved his stock.  Sat 82-83 with good down angle.  Slurvy breaking ball 64-66mph.  Slider was better at 71mph.  Threw slider for strikes.  Kept armspeed up on change.  68-70mph.  Overall Schaap is starting to come into his own.  Has a bit of choppiness in delivery but that adds to his deception.

2/9/13 Schaap is 6-foot-2 as a junior with long lanky features.  He threw from a 3/4 arm slot in the infield.  He best projects on the mound.  His fastball sat 78-80 mph.  His breaking ball was down in the zone and a bit loopy.  We liked his slider better at 70 mph  His change was solid and showed good arm side run.
