Athletic body type and projectable frame at 6’0’’, 190 pounds. Starts from a slightly wider base at the plate. Sinks into back side during load with an exaggerated front knee turn and small toe tap stride. Gets good separation and showed some fast bat speed. Level swing path with an exit velo of 92 mph. More of a line drive type hitter now with some power to the gaps. More power is projected at the plate as he continues to get stronger. Soft hands in the infield, moves well, shows good feilding actions, and works through the ball. Clean exchange with a longer arm action throwing from a high three-quarters slot at 82 mph. Also showed the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. Ran a 4.07 home-to-first.
Athletic frame with room for strength at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Hits from a wider square set up. Sinks into lower half with exaggerated knee turn in load and slight arm bar. Level swing path with some bat speed. Hands worked well on middle in balls, got around on outer third at times, could free up extension through finish. Sound feet in the infield, sound actions, moved well, could stay on balls of feet a bit more, clean exchange with athletic, longer arm action. Position velo of 79 mph. with exit velo of 85mph.
6/4/17
Great day at the plate for 2019 Zach Crampton with five hits on the day. Short path at the plate with bat speed and extension. Nice fluid load in swing and barreled up the ball well throughout his two games at Frederick. Got on the mound and had a longer arm action with quick arm speed throughout. Got up to 80 on the mound with more in the tank
8.9.16 - Athletic and projectable frame at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. Hits from an athletic set up with a little crouch. Sinks into load with stride to hitting position. Has a shorter swing path to the baseball with some extension through contact. Middle type hitter with nice rhythm and balance. Active feet in the infield. Clean hands with quick exchange with a shorter arm action throwing from a high ¾ slot. Projectable body and should continue to grow and get stronger. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash.
10.25.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot-10 160-pounds. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash. Hits from a balanced setup. Smooth load with a leg kick. Level bat path with average bat speed. Nice hip rotation, gets a little stacked on back foot. Gets lower half involved. Nice balance and rhythm throughout swing. Exit velocity of 74 mph. Clean actions from the infield. Quick transfer to a short arm action throwing from a ¾ arm angle. Infield velocity of 73 mph. Interesting 2019 to monitor development with a nice foundation at a young age.
