DiFiore is a 5-foot-7, 120 pound prospect. The right-handed hitting catcher/infielder had an exit velocity of 70 mph off the tee. He hits out of wide, square base with the hands just off the back shoulder. He uses a knee slide to get the weight to the back leg and the hands push back to a strong position to hit. The bat-path is quick and flat to and through the hitting zone.
Behind the plate, the stance is balanced, with the glove centered in the middle of the chest. The feet are square prior to shifting into the throwing position. As he moves to get going toward second base, the feet replace, with the hips and shoulders following. He’s a little quick to stand upright, causing him to be flat-footed. The glove to ball transfer is good. He gets the ball out and into a strong throwing position. His finish is in line with the target and showed a velocity of 67 mph at this event.
In the infield, he was 72 mph across the diamond. The feet move well as he works to get into a good fielding position. He breaks down behind the ground ball, with the glove out in front. He transitions well into the throwing position and creates a good line with the target. He continues through the play, keeping that good line with the target.
