7/16/19

6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder. Ran a 7.68 sixty at the event. The approach in the outfield is aggressive and online. Threw 77 mph from right field to third base. Profiles as a corner outfielder. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 93 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot open to start. The front foot closes down as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is long to contact, shows potential power.  On the mound, the fastball sat 81-82 mph, arm side run and sink at times. The breaking ball was a tweener as it sat 65-70 mph. The changeup was 69-71 mph with good arm side action. The delivery has crossfire to the feet, above 3/4 in slot. The glove has pull to it, as he comes into foot strike. Small amount of recoil after he releases the ball. Solid outing as he competed and threw strikes.

3/17/19

6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Threw 75 mph from the outfield.  The feet are deliberate and get into a good position to field.  The glove gets to a good spot and the transition to the throwing motion is clean.  The arm arm swing in long and stays through his throw in line with the target. At the plate, the tee exit velocity was 87 mph.  The stance begins open, with the hands just above the back shoulder.  The load is a fluid knee to knee and a push back of the hands.  This leads to a strong position to initiate the swing.  The swing path is quick down to contact and elevates as he extends through.  He generates a lot of leverage and pop with this swing.  I like the potential with this tool.On the mound, the fastball was up to 77 mph with some arm side run.  He works out of a slow deliberate delivery and does finish a bit hard on the front side.  The arm swing is a short higher ¾ slot that does stay in line with the target. The breaking ball was 67 mph and showed the feel to create good tight spin.  The change up has a chance to be a plus pitch.  It was 71 mph and showed good action.

3/11/18

6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and pitcher. Threw 76 mph during the outfield portion of the workout. The approach to the ball is properly done and aggressive. The arm works clean. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 81 mph. The setup is even, front foot is slightly open to start. The front foot is picked up and put down as the ball approaches. The bat has a small wrap to it, the path is long and flat to contact. 1-handed finish after contact. The frame needs additional strength to aid the development of his game. On the mound, the fastball touched 75 mph. The spin pitch sat at 65 mph. The changeup sits at 68 mph. The delivery is online with his feet. The slot is above ¾, the arm works quickly. The top half is rotational as he makes his way into foot strike, the tracking needs to be aligned to the plate. The lift is repeated, coil at the top of the lift. The tempo is quick throughout.
