Report: The 5-foot-9, 180-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder really showed well. This is an athletic defender in the middle of the field. The feet are soft and active, which allow him to get into a good fielding position. The glove is soft and showed the ability to make hop adjustments with the backhand. Transitioned nicely through the ball into the throwing position. The arm works from a low arm slot and registered at 72 mph across the diamond. Raising the slot should increase the velocity, as the arm speed is there. At the plate, the tee exit velocity was 88 mph. The initial set up is balanced the hands are in a good strong position. The take back with the hands is quiet and the stride is short. This creates a nice launch position to a bat path that is level and quick to contact. This is an athletic young infielder that can really defend! There’s a ton of upside and room for growth on both sides of the ball. |
