Cray is a 5-foot-10, 195 pound left-handed hitting prospect. He hits out of a narrow stance, with his hands in a good position. The load is short, his hands get into a strong position. The bat path is flat through the zone and produced an exit velocity of 86.3 MPH during the batting practice. Cray also ran a 7.4 second sixty.
Defensively, Cray showed some versatility, working out at both first base and behind the plate. Behind the plate, he begins with an open stance, with the glove set in the middle of the chest. As he transitions to throw, the feet get into a good throwing position, in line with second base. The ball exchange is good, with a good arm swing. On his throws he had a pop time range of 2.35-2.4 seconds and a velocity of 69 MPH.
At first base, he uses deliberate footwork to get into a balanced fielding position. The glove is relaxed out in front. As he transitions to the throwing position, the feet get in line with the target and he uses that same short arm swing to produce a velocity of 66 MPH across the diamond.
Exit Velocity- 86 mph
Catching Velocity-69 mph

5-foot-10, 175-pound left-handed hitting catcher and outfielder. Threw 68 mph during the catching portion of the workout. The feet work and the transfer can improve with developing footwork. The arm would benefit from an off-season throwing program. The receiving is solid, continuing to work on the securing of the catch is imperative. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 74 mph. Starts with his even, steps into the pitch with the front foot. The hands work strongly with the barrel. Needs to flatten the bat path for plate coverage. The bat does have life and he should show well with the bat as he matures.
