Alexander Pitro: 2B/SS, (2024) out of West Boylston, MA. is a 5-foot-6, 136-pound middle infield prospect. In the box, Pitro recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH with a (63.8 mph bat speed average) and (25.6 mph hand speed average). He started in a balanced, athletic stance with the hands set just off his back shoulder. He loads well to the backside before using a short stride to start a simple, flat swing. He stays balanced throughout and uses the middle of the field. In the infield, Pitro’s throws across the diamond reached 64 MPH and showed he had a clean exchange, sure hands, and smooth, consistent footwork.
Pitro is a 5-foot-5, 116 pound right-handed hitting middle infield prospect. He hits out of a narrow, slightly open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. The load is short and allows him to get stacked over the back leg. Pitro’s swing plane is flat to and through the hitting zone, yielding a max exit velocity of 77 MPH during the batting practice.
Defensively, Pitro was 69 MPH on his throws from the infield. His footwork is a bit choppy but he’s able to get into a good fielding position. He transitions nicely into the throwing position. The feet get the hips and shoulders to create a good line with his target. The arm works out of a higher slot and he finishes through the play, keeping a good line with the target.
Pitro is a young 5-foot-3, 105 pound prospect. The right-handed hitting infielder had an exit velocity of 65 mph off the tee. The stance is square and narrow. The hands are in a relaxed position, off the back shoulder. The load is short and gets him into a strong position to hit. The swing plane is flat, to and through the hitting zone.
Defensively, he was 54 mph across the diamond. The young infielder showed good fundamentals during the event. The feet do a nice job of getting him into a balanced fielding position. He breaks down behind the ball, with the glove relaxed out front. As he fields, he shows soft hands and transitions well into the throwing position. The hips, feet and shoulders get in line with the target, allowing for a clean arm-swing. He stays in line as he finishes through the play.
