2/16/2019: Webster Walls, SS/RHP, Clarksville HS, 2020, 5 foot 11, 175 pounds, ran 7.55, threw 81 mph across the diamond, and had an exit velocity of 90 mph. Showed good rhythm from left side and looseness through the zone. Actions look to suit 2B or 3B more than SS as he showed good hands and arm, just not quickness and release to stay at SS.
1/6/2019: Webster Walls, SS/RHP, Clarksville HS, 2020, 5 foot 11, 175 pounds, hits from the left side out of a slightly open stance. Uses a weight shift and scap load to produce a max exit velo of 88. Also showed average actions at SS with a strong arm across the field with a position velocity of 84. Also ran 7.46 at the event. On the mound, Webster showed good ability to spin both a CB (65-69) and a SL (68-72) as well as showing good fade life on a CH at 70-71. Webster’s max velocity out of a mid slot was 81, and with his arm quickness, don’t be surprised for that number to go up.
6/5/18: 2020 MIF/RHP, hits from left side open set up. Big leg lift and hand wrap for trigger, slight pause in rhythm in swing as well. Level bat path with above average bat speed. In the field displayed average actions, packs during the exchange, average arm strength across the diamond. On the mound pitches from 2 arm slots, h 3/4 and low 3/4 or side arm action. Showed loose arm action with decent tempo to the plate. Stayed in line to the plate during delivery. FB was 76-78 and flashed cut action at times. CB was up and down at 65-68 with some potential.
2/25/17: The 5-foot-10, 170 pound left-handed hitting shortstop hits with a leg kick and back load. Lot of movement during load. Lands closed, backside gets partially through. Bat path is slightly uphill with some extension. Bat speed is above average. Defensively, hands are average with flat feet and a clean exchange. Throws topped at 78 with some accuracy. Arm action is short, loose. Ran an 8.07 60yd dash.
8/2/16 - 60 Time: 8.13, Position Velocity: IF-68, Exit Velocity: 75 5-foot-9, 175-pound LHH hits from a balanced stance, loads up on backside with a leg kick, hands start with bat wrapped in front of head, swing is fairly compact, squares the baseball when everything is in sync with line drive contact to all fields. Defensively, has average hands and can improve footwork through the baseball, average body control and ability to throw on the move, long high-3/4 release produced mostly accurate throws across the diamond, decent arm strength for age. Walls’best current tool is his bat as he is a solid young left-handed hitter, should see foot speed improve with maturity.
