Shull

Shull is a lanky and athletic 6-foot, 160-pound, right-handed hitting outfield prospect and left-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 recruiting class. At the event, 7.62 second 60, and posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. During batting practice, Shull starts in a balanced stance, simple load, quiet hands, longer and in line stride, level bat path, showed a good round in bp with hard line drive contact in the middle of the field. Defensively, good actions in the outfield, long and loose arm action, three-quarter release, strong arm with carry, positional velo of 81 mph, accurate throws. On the mound, Shull shows a compact and repeatable delivery, minimal head movement, direction towards target, glove tap in transfer, high three-quarter release, loose arm action, athletic finish. Fastball sat 76-78 mph at the event, arm side run, thrown for strikes, changeup is 71-74 mph, arm side run, near fastball arm speed, curveball was 66 mph at the event, gradual action, 1-to-7 shape.

Shull is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.87 60, a 5.21 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a balanced set up, holds hands away from body with some pre pitch rhythm, efficient load, short stride, gap to gap approach, level path.  In the outfield, quick arm speed with over the top release, gain momentum after the catch, fluid footwork to the ball with clean exchange, 84 mph positional velocity. On the mound, Schull iworks from a high three quarters arm slot, athletic and compact delivery, in line down the mound, slight upward tilt in shoulders, athletic finish, fastball at 75-78 mph, touching 79 mph, shows command, breaking ball with gradual and late 11-to5 shape, 65-70 mph, change up at 70-71 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed, slight sink.
