9/15/14 - We watched North this past spring as he saw time behind the plate for the Class 6A Shawnee Mission South Raiders. Physically he’s gained size and strength since then and is beginning to develop into a solid catching prospect in the Kansas class of 2016. He’s an athletic catcher that moves well behind the plate and got down the line in 4.40 seconds on a ground ball out. He received the ball well with quiet glove work keeping strikes in the strike zone and gaining some extra strikes for his pitchers on borderline pitches. North throws with loose arm action and his throws have carry to them. On the weekend he went 2-for-5 at the plate with two walks and a hit by pitch.
