6/25/15: The 6-foot-2 225 pound pitcher pitches from a high ¾ arm slot with some arm speed.  Tall to fall type delivery with level shoulders.  Rhythm is rushed and a little choppy. Stays in the line to the plate, at times lands open.  Fastball was heavy at 86-88 with some late life.  Breaking ball was 70-72 with late break, but erratic; more of a downer type pitch.  Change-up was 77-79 with some sink.

2/21/15: 6-foot-2, 235 pounds pitches from a high ¾ slot with quick arm speed.  Good arm strength, choppy rhythm.  Fastball was heavy and straight at 84-86, up to 87.  Breaking ball was erratic in the zone at 66-68.  Changeup shows occasional sink at 74-77, erratic in the zone.  

10/18/14:  6-foot-3, 235 pound Junior possesses a projectable pitchers frame.  ¾ slot with average arm speed.  Long, loose arm action.  Tall to fall delivery, easy effort.  Smooth rhythm and good direction to the plate.  Lands square.  Hard fastball sat 83-84, consistently thrown for a strike.  Curveball was 65-66 with early break.  Slider sits 70-72 and kept in the zone.  Changeup is straight at 73-74 and left up in the zone.  

6-foot-3, 235 pound 3B possesses a big frame with a strong lower half.  Good hands defensively.  Moves well for his size.  Exchange is clean and plays through the ball.  Across the diamond was 80 mph with carry.  At the plate starts with a wide base.  Minimal stride.  Loads back.  Average use of the lower half.  Bat speed is average.  Uphill swing plane, long path.  Line drive hitter.  Registered an exit velo of 80 mph.  

Summer 2020: Senior RHP Nate Thomas (Northern Illinois) creates steep downplane from his 6-foot-3 frame and high slot which allows him to drive his heavy, low-90s fastball to the bottom of the strike zone. He has an aggressive, “here it is, try to hit it” approach without much use of his offspeed.
