1/6/2019: Jacob Cummings, C/SS, Clarksville HS, 2021, 5 foot 10, 170 pounds, Athletic in his stance as a catcher, as well as a good receiver. Posted pop times in the 2.05-2.15 which will get better with strength. Showed good athletic movement in both transfer and release behind the plate. Infield actions at SS are average, and showed 73 max velo across the diamond. Hits with a leg kick sometimes landing on his toe causing timing issues. Jacob posted an exit velo of 85 with a solid bat path.
6/5/18: Smaller framed '21 catcher/INF, hits from right side. Up right stance that is open. Showed a long stride to contact point which caused him to dive into the baseball at times. Average bat speed that was long and rhythm was choppy. In the field tended to sit on heels and not play through the baseball. Footwork was average and exchange was long with glove pat. Behind the dish showed quick exchange and pops were in the 2.1 range. Good receiver.
