2/16/2019: Drew Dillon, 1B/OF, Center Grove HS, 2020, 6 foot 4, 200 pounds, stands tall from the left side and uses a controlled leg lift to get loaded. Hands work through the zone well, although doesn’t control his long and wiry frame yet at the end of his swing, as he breaks down in his front leg and his head if forward of center. Strength added to that frame will only help him hold balance and strength at the end of his swing. His exit velo was 84 mph, and I think that will continue to climb. Drew ran 7.00 which is great for a kid his size and age, and he threw 79 mph from the outfield with a shorter arm action and below average footwork.
12.8.18: Athletic 6-foot-4, 200 pound frame. Slight crouch setup, hands start high. Leg kick, longer stride. Smooth load, average bat speed, slightly uphill path. Over rotation in the lower half at times. Pull-side hitter, two-handed finish. High exit velocity of 84 mph. Short, over-the-top arm action, 72 mph across the INF. Average defender around the bag. Top 60 time of a 7.07.
