Indiana commit. Tall lean, long levered athlete with a high waist. Has a frame that can carry more growth and strength in near future. Starts from the far-left side of the rubber with a ¾-arm slot release. Starts ball in glove from a high over the head hand pump with a slight pause in his leg kick that creates his internal timing to get to front side on delivering the ball to the plate. Small hand with ball tap in glove is also present. Decker-Petty has a small over rotated landing foot that will improve his line to plate as he becomes more physically mature. Good range of motion to shoulder, allows for fluidity to his SL and CH arsenal. Slider is a down action shape pitch with depth, while his Changeup has late fade in zone. As he matures and becomes stronger, will be more consistent with his command and control of his pitches. Chance to be a starter at next level with a quality arm with intriguing projection.
The Indiana recruit was effectively wild across four innings allowing just one run while striking out six and walking two. Long limbed at 6-foot-5, 170-pounds with a wiry frame, Decker-Petty rips the ball out of the glove, later, to jump start a quick arm that delivers out of a high ¾ slot with quality extension out front. His fastball worked 87-89 (1950-2150 RPM), and received some swing-and-miss with varying life. He also showcased confidence in a power-changeup at 83 mph while dropping in a gradual, 11/5 breaking ball (73-77) that took proper shape, and which he appears to have some aptitude to make advancements on in the future. Overall, the quick arm and projectable frame leave lots to be excited about moving forward, and there is a strong chance he continue to see an uptick in velocity. Stats: 4.0 innings, 6K-2BB, 1H, 1R

Petty has a projectable 6-foot-5, 170-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. At this year's Indiana Preseason All-State Underclass event, the right-hander sat 86-89 with his fastball. He works predominantly out of the stretch with a medium, high-3/4 arm action and quick arm speed. He features two breaking balls in his arsenal: a 76-78 mph slider and 70-72 mph curveball. Currently, he has more feel for the curveball with tight spin and depth. He also showcased a 75-76 mph changeup with fade and occasional sink.

Aydan Petty, RHP/1B, New Castle HS, 2022, 6 foot 3, 160 pounds, throws from a high ¾ slot and a medium length arm action. Has a very projectable pitchers frame and has the current arm speed to project there is plenty more in the tank. Fastball sat 79-81, CB 65-69, and CH 71-72.
