LHP Tyler Ledvina (Lincoln-Way East, 2024) is an uncommitted name-to-know who has shown well for our staff in back-to-back weekends. The southpaw has athletic actions on the bump with an arm that has quick acceleration out front. In this look, his fastball sat 86-89 mph in the first inning, but settled in the mid-80s. He’s also shown two quality off-speed offerings in both his curveball and changeup. A 6-foot, 170-pound frame, Ledvina has projection in his build, and with his recent showings on the mound, he’s only trending up from here.
Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds.
Delivery: Rhythmic delivery, high leg kick into a drop and drive lower half, on-line land to home.
Arm Action: LH. Full arm action into an over the top slot, quick out front.
FB: T86, 84-86 mph. Plays with life out of the hand with feel for the zone. T2330, 2147 average rpm.
SL: 78-80 mph. Tight breaking movement with depth., 10/4 shape. T2643, 2496 average rpm.
CH: 82-82 mph. Thrown with intent, tumbling action. T1373, 1337 average rpm.
LHP Tyler Ledvina (Lincoln-Way East, 2024) is a 5-foot-11 left-hander who was up to 86.2 mph in Lockport, with a quick arm, fluid. He mixed in both a true four-seam and a two-seamer that did run hard arm-side at times, and both kinds of fastballs showed life through the zone. Ledvina’s slider also has some sharpness to it, spinning at over 2,200 rpm on average, with sweep-type action. His feel for the strike zone with all three pitches, including a changeup, helped him stand out last weekend.
