Heartland Scout Day: Slender bodied righty at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds. Compact arm path. Varied slot between H3/4 and 3/4 yet consistently found zone with high-spin 87-90 mph fastball. Riding action. Solid extension out front. Mixed in 78-79 mph breaking ball. Longer shape with early break. Fair feel for upper-70s changeup that showed hard sink at times.

Runs his fastball into the low-90s, working mostly 88-89 with some sink. He showed fair feel for both his 78-82 mph slider and same speed change-of-pace.

8/7/18 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher, athletic, projectable frame. Works from third base side of rubber, short side step to coiled balance, cross body to home, foot lands closed, athletic finish, slight fall forward. Pats glove at hand break, arm plays short and loose, generates arm speed, high ¾ slot. Fastball, heavy out of the hand, significant run, 85-86 mph. Curveball, 11/5 shape, sharp break with arm speed, 72 mph. Slider, different spin than curve, 10/4 shape, flashed swing and miss ability, 77 mph. Changeup played 80 mph, faded.

6.12.18 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound, right-handed hitting infielder, strong, athletically-built. Defensively, loose arm action, ¾ slot, throws carry with easy effort, topped 84 mph across the diamond. Offensively, open setup, short toe-tap stride, maintains balance. Gap-to-gap type, short, uphill barrel path, exit velocity topped 87 mph from a tee. 7.85 runner in the 60.

6.5.18 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher with an athletic, strong, wide-shouldered frame. Rotational delivery, high leg-lift with coil at balance point; lands closed and finishes athletically. Short, loose, quick arm action from a high ¾ slot with easy effort at release. Fastball works straight, downhill tilt at times, sat mostly 83-86 mph, touched 87. Curveball, put-away pitch, flashed sharp spin, 11/5 shape, late action, 73-76 mph. Did not see a changeup in game. Struck out four hitters and did not allow a hit in his two-innings of work. Follow 2019 right-handed pitcher.

2.11.18 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, lanky frame, thin, young build, projects well. Wide rocker step into smooth leg lift, works through a solid front side, confident presence, uses lide step out of the stretch. Arm action is clean and projects, high ceiling arm action, loose and quick, gets extension out front, high ¾ slot. Showed fastball command, arm side run, touched 86 mph, mostly 84-85, dipped to 81-82 in the stretch. Hard aggressive curveball, sharp action with feel, 73-76 mph. Changeup is sinks to arm side, 76-77 mph.

1.27.18 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound, two-way prospect with an athletic, strong build. Projects best on the mound. Right-handed pitcher, delivery creates some deception; works slightly across his body and lands closed. Arm is loose and quick out front; comes out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat comfortably at 81-84 mph to start his bullpen but ended in a flurry as he touched 90 once and then 86. Curveball, feel, 11/5 shape with depth, 68-71 mph. Changeup, thrown for strikes, down in the zone, fade action, 72-73 mph. Follow 2019 right-handed pitcher. At the plate, tall setup, short stride and minimal wasted movement. Line-drive approach and 73 mph exit velocity from a tee. On the infield, long arm action, ¾ slot, accurate throws, topped at 79 mph. 7.94 runner in the 60.

8.9.17 - 6-foot-4, 180-pound, lanky, projectable, athletically built, right-handed pitcher. On the mound, three pitch feel, long, loose arm action, high ¾ arm slot, easy effort. Tall and fall delivery, smooth rhythm, works on-line, recoil finish. Fastball, mostly straight, commanded in the zone, 81-83 mph, touching 84. Curveball, shape varied between 12/6 and 11/5, near fastball arm speed, flashed depth, 72-75. Changeup, near fastball arm speed, fade action, down in the zone for strikes, 74-76. Projectable 2019 arm.
