4.12.17 - Currently ranked No. 33 in the Illinois’ 2018 class. 6-foot-1, 165-pound, lean, athletic build, two-way prospect with a young look and plenty of room for continued physical development. Did it all for Prospect on this day. Got the win on the mound, going 9 shutout innings in under 100 pitches. Also, scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th. On the mound, repeats his delivery with low effort throughout. Has a steady demeanor on the mound, rarely shows emotion or change body language and threw a high volume of strikes. Arm works loose and short out of a ¾ slot. Works the bottom of the strike zone and both sides of the plate with his fastball, gets arm-side-run, occasional sink, sat 81-85 mph early in his outing. Mixed in a breaking ball, that had short, late break, slider type 10/4 action, 71-73 mph. Can throw it when behind in counts or as a put-away pitch. Struck out six and did not walk a batter in the nine innings. Offensively, right-handed hitter, hits in the three-hole. Loose, easy swing, ball jumps off his bat, has feel for the barrel, stays balanced and is on time. Went 2-for-4 on the day with a double. Hit a line drive single to right field in his second at-bat. Flew out to the warning track in left field, with the wind blowing in, in his third at-bat. Led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a backspin line-drive double over the left-fielder's head, 4.59 on the turn. High-follow 2018 prospect.
2.19.17 - 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitting SS/RHP. Highly athletic, ran the 60 at 6.75. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift trigger and good balance. Pull hitter with a long, uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 90 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively has a loose arm action from a ¾ slot. Throws showed carry across the infield at 88 mph. Plays thru the ball with soft hands and solid defensive actions. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Closed landing with smooth rhythm. Fastball has running action at 83-86 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with gradual action at 68-71 mph. Changuep has arm side running action at 75-78 mph for strikes.
10.16.16 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound infielder, lean athletic body type. Advanced runner, 6.83 in the 60, laser timed. Defensively showed good actions and confident hands, hands are soft and plays well on the move. Arm action is loose, high ¾ slot, flashed carry across the diamond, 81 mph. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short lifted stride which closes off some. Path repeats, short to the baseball, can get more out of lower half. 89 mph exit velocity from the tee.
