3B/RHP Pablo Herrera (Plainfield South, 2025) was one of the only pitchers in attendance to have more than -17 inches of horizontal movement at peak on both of his breaking balls. His slider (-19.6” ) played at 77-79 mph (T2550 RPM, 2451 RPM avg), and his 74-76 mph curveball (T2581 RPM, 2518 RPM avg) also moved at a high rate (-17.3”). The 5-foot-10, 180-pound junior also pitched at 87-88 mph with his fastball.

RHP Pablo Herrera (Plainfield South) displayed pitchability in his ‘pen on Saturday. Herrera’s three-pitch mix was headlined by an 87-88 mph fastball that played with arm-side run (avg. 14.8” HM) and some sink. His slider had more lateral action to it, showing a 10/4 shape with feel for the zone. Herrera’s curveball played similarly to the slider, though with slightly better spin (avg. 2518; T2581 rpm) at 74-76 mph.

3B Pablo Herrera (Plainfield South, 2025) opened some eyes throughout the event. The 5-foot-10, 167-pound, right-handed hitter, has a confident, hitterish look in the box and stays compact and on-plane to the baseball. Herrera flashed some pull-side power, jumping all over a pitch in the zone and driving it to deep left-center field. Also, made a couple of above-average plays at third base. 2025 to follow. Also, hopped on the mound and was 82-84 with a big breaking curveball that he threw for strikes at the bottom half of the zone
