Chicago Scouts Association went to 2022 RHP Nicholas Kolze (Romeoville HS, IL) out of the bullpen. Kolze a wide-shouldered, 6-foot-2, 195-pound, sophomore went right after hitters with primarily a firm fastball that was up to 89 mph, working mostly 86-88 mph, especially early on. Kolze has one of the strongest arms in the class and will be one to watch closely in the next few years.

Kolze had one of the day’s most impressive outings on the mound. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound righty sat 83-85 mph, touching 86 mph, twice through Minnesota Blizzard’s order. His ability to mix in a power, hammer 12/6 breaking ball helped earn a number of swings and misses.
