Lawrence

Lawrence is an athletically built 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder who put on an impressive round of BP. Lawrence has a balanced approach and gets through the baseball well. He demonstrated excellent extension after contact, and the ball jumped off his bat with backspin carry. In the outfield, Lawrence moved well to the baseball and showed above-average arm strength. Hampered by an ankle sprain, Lawrence did not run the 60, but at a previous PBR event, he ran a 6.95. Also scored a 30 ACT. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound outfielder showed as one of the top class of 2012 athletes at the event, as he ran a 6.96 60. Lawrence also moved well in the outfield and displayed an accurate, solid arm (81 mph). At the plate, Lawrence put on an impressive BP performance. He showed a well-balanced, polished swing and the ability to drive the ball with authority. He showed good barrel whip through the zone and the ball jumped off his bat. Versatile catcher has impressive athletic frame and quick, explosive hands at plate. Lawrence is a projectable 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete who showed he can adeptly play catcher and the outfield. Behind the plate, his top pop time was a 2.25, while from the outfield his throws had good carry. At the plate, Lawrence showed the ability to consistently hit the ball hard with some power potential.
